SANNIO AGLIANICO. While we understand that this type of Italian wine has an avid following, this particular one was not well received. Uncle P thought that it was a simple tasting, simple wine from "central valley". Uncle E: " It's terrible, citrussy, lemonny, poop". Uncle Ozzie thought that it must be "under $5.00". Winepath thought that it had the smell/taste of old, out-of-date polyvitamin-pills. The rating: 0.5-1.

I am offended by the comment of OZ but We agree this tasted cheap grapey wine. This one also gets 90 from WA.

"The 2004 Aglianico Sannio is a big, dark, brooding wine loaded with dark fruit, licorice and toasted oak. Its notable concentration and supple texture make it an excellent choice to drink now and over the next few years. The wine was aged in a combination of stainless steel and French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2012."
